I have always felt comfortable and confident in the kitchen and l love the ethos of artisan and home-made produce because of the authenticity and originality of the creative culinary process.
The kitchen has always been the heart of the home for my whole family and my parents have always included my twin sister and me in the preparation of meals and involved us in home baking. As a result, alchemy of food has always been an area of interest to me; I have learnt a lot about subtleties of flavour pairings through following recipes but have also grown up unselfconsciously having fun playing around with different ingredients or creating spur of the moment dishes.
My dad has worked in the wine industry through Adnams for the past 15 years, and we have had educational tea-time conversations about wine for as long as I can remember, discussing different grape varieties, theorising about flavours and being taught which wines are best with which meal. He has also passed on his knowledge of the distillation process of gin, which again is built on subtleties of flavour and how the different botanicals blend to create finishes to gins.
I am now using my acquired knowledge and applying it to preserves and conserves.
I have always favoured natural and organic foods as I feel they provide one with a richer, more dynamic and satisfying result. Moreover, my long–standing personal enjoyment of chutneys and jams, gives credence for my inspiration to create high quality, artisanal condiments which should be celebrated, for complementing and enhancing a meal.
I am very proud to say that I am the founder and custodian of this most exciting Artisanal Enterprise.
ART's - Craft Kitchen has been a labour of love. Born out of my passion for cooking and the desire to create my own unique business having completed Sixth Form education in 2020, I immediately followed my dreams and explored entrepreneurship.
The core ethos of ART's - Craft Kitchen is to celebrate everything that is delightful about hand-crafted home cooking. My intention is to work with an inspired, experimental and artisanal approach in order to create my products which are unique to me and showcase my creative skills in the kitchen. As an artist combines colours on a palette to generate new hues, so I look at the relationship between flavours and combine them to create bespoke recipes.
Working from my Suffolk home kitchen, my aim is to support British suppliers and growers and to fulfil my vision for ART's - Craft Kitchen to create innovative ideas and to deliver quality niche products which stir up fresh interest in jams and chutneys!!
Since launching in April 2021, ART’s – Craft Kitchen has grown beyond my expectation: my product range totals more than 25 flavours, and I won two prestigious awards in the space of two months in 2022. My business profile continues to gain momentum both locally and around the UK and my stockists extend as far away as Balgove Larder, St Andrews, Scotland. I continue to work hard to grow and develop my business; the future looks bright, so who knows what other exciting opportunities lay round the corner…
